New Hire Orientation
All newly hired employees to the University of Illinois system must complete an ethics orientation summary, which is a brief training program, located in the New Hire.
New employees should log into this system using the ID and password provided by their hiring contact. The University Ethics and Compliance Office is not privy to this information.
Offline Training
Employees who are unable to access the online orientation or who cannot recall their ID and password may complete an offline version of the training.
Please Note: Any documents completed in the offline, paper format, require the completed signature page be mailed to our office via US Postal Mail at the address provided both on the form and below. There is no campus mail to or from the University of Illinois Springfield.

Statutory Reference
In regard to newly hired employees of the University, The Illinois State Officials and Employees Ethics Act (5 ILCS 430/5-10) states:
Each Inspector General shall set standards and determine the hours and frequency of training necessary for each position or category of positions. A person who fills a vacancy in an elective or appointed position that requires training and a person employed in a position that required training must complete his or her initial ethics training within 30 days after commencement of his or her office or employment.
